David has 30-years’ experience in the conservative management of patients presenting with an array of sports, spinal and musculo-skeletal injuries since graduating from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1991. Over this time David has utilised his own experience in high-level competitive rowing as well as extensive experience covering a range of sports including rugby, gymnastics, football, basketball and netball to assist athletes of all sports, ages and abilities, to participate injury-free to the best of their capability. A hallmark of David’s practice is continuing professional development, represented by his completion of the Masters of Sports Medicine and subsequent teaching of subjects in the Masters Program. David has published research on ‘Shin Splints’, presented research on Non-surgical management of ACL injuries, continues to mentor postgraduate physiotherapy students and enjoys strong relationships with Specialists developed over many years.

As well as extensive knowledge in the treatment of sporting injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation, David has extensive experience treating workplace and motor vehicle injuries, acute post-surgical joint replacement rehabilitation and reconstructive surgery patients. Over the past 15 years David has incorporated rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI) assessment and rehabilitation of core abdominal and back musculature into this conservative approach. RUSI allows the therapist to assess the existing contraction sequence of the CORE muscles, then alter that sequence appropriately to achieve normal function, even where previous attempts at CORE exercises has failed to provide symptom resolution. The integration of RUSI into the practice has also meant the more accurate (and speedy) rehabilitation of shoulder, hip and women’s health issues.
